The “Strong Armenia” bloc has appealed to law enforcement agencies and the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), requesting that Pashinyan’s conduct be reviewed. This was stated by Armen Yezekyan, a supporter of the bloc, candidate of legal sciences and associate professor, in a conversation with Alpha News.
“Nobody is surprised by Pashinyan’s approaches and rhetoric anymore, people have grown used to it. But yesterday’s incident caused great bewilderment: using such language toward a woman is terrible and unacceptable. Our colleagues have already filed the relevant complaints with law enforcement agencies and the CEC. We don’t hold out much hope for a response, but we are putting on record that yesterday’s incident was unacceptable,” Yezekyan noted.
He also believes that the video circulated on social media, in which a masked man speaking in the Artsakh dialect threatens Pashinyan, was staged by the authorities themselves.
“I am certain it was a staged production that could only have benefited Pashinyan. If one allows even a small probability that it was real, I of course condemn violence, but I believe the perpetrators must be held accountable. It is also clear to me that this was not what they tried to make it appear. Moreover, the video failed to achieve the purpose for which it was circulated: to suggest that there are forces wishing for Pashinyan’s death. In reality, it was done purely for campaign dividends,” Yezekyan said.
According to him, Pashinyan understands that his ratings are low, which is why he resorts to such moves.
“Every action and statement by Pashinyan disappoints those who have not yet made up their minds. He has his own polling results, and they are unfavorable: his ratings are falling, and this is visible to everyone,” Yezekyan noted.
He also presented the “Strong Armenia” bloc’s socioeconomic program, aimed at supporting families and developing the economy. As part of the demographic policy, the program provides for a payment of 2 million drams upon the birth of a fourth child and housing upon the birth of a fifth child. For young families, construction of 20,000 affordable apartments is planned. In addition, the program includes the creation of 300,000 new jobs, which is intended to help reduce unemployment and strengthen the country’s economy.
