Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, told Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, that Armenia remains a full member of the EAEU while developing its relations with Europe, Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, told journalists.
On September 26, Putin met with Pashinyan at the Kremlin.

“At that time [during the Putin-Pashinyan talks], I will remind you, the prime minister said that Armenia remains a full member of the EAEU, but at the same time is developing its relations in other directions of its foreign policy, particularly with Europe,” Peskov said.

According to him, Armenia is among Russia’s friends, and the two countries are part of one of the most advanced integration processes – the Eurasian Economic Union.

“Absolutely. Armenia and we are part of one of the most advanced integration processes – the EAEU. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, will travel to Astana this week on a state visit. And after that, for a full day on Friday, heads of state and government will devote their time to EAEU matters, and a session of the Supreme EAEU Commission will be held,” Peskov said in response to a question about whether Russia and Armenia are friends.

The press secretary also noted that Pashinyan will not attend the EAEU commission session due to the election campaign.
