CSTO discusses Armenia’s status over unpaid dues: secretary general

The issue of Armenia’s status within the CSTO is being discussed amid its failure to pay membership dues. This was stated by Taalatbek Masadykov, secretary general of the organization. He also noted that Yerevan is de facto taking virtually no part in the CSTO’s work.

“A meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held quite recently in Kazan, where this issue was discussed in detail. I think Armenia hasn’t paid its dues for three years now,” he specified.

Earlier, Lavrov, head of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Armenia could be expelled from the CSTO over its unpaid dues.
