Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party and an attorney, today filed a comprehensive application with the Constitutional Court contesting the results of the parliamentary elections held on June 7. Speaking with journalists, Vardevanyan said the application runs to 84 pages and includes a large volume of attached documents and data.

According to him, a major press conference will be held in the near future to present the details to the public.

“We unequivocally believe that the results of these elections must be declared invalid. The Constitutional Court, as the sole body with jurisdiction over electoral disputes, may issue one of three rulings: declare the CEC’s decision and the election results invalid, schedule a second round of elections, or establish a new procedure for the allocation of mandates. We place particular emphasis on two of those options either full invalidation of the election results or the scheduling of a second round,” Vardevanyan noted.
