Amid large-scale searches being conducted at the private home of Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, and at companies belonging to him within the Multi Group concern, party press secretary Iveta Tonoyan issued a new statement.

She characterized what is happening as the realization of threats voiced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the pre-election period.

According to Tonoyan, law enforcement officers are acting under conditions of absolute secrecy, “in a manner reminiscent of an action movie,” and did not even allow Tsarukyan’s third lawyer, Yerem Sargsyan, to visit the site of the search.

The PAP press secretary reported that searches are being conducted at dozens of enterprises within the concern, as well as at the apartments of their directors. Operations at a number of major companies have been paralyzed. “At this point, it can be said with certainty that the operations of companies within the Multi Group concern have been paralyzed, and thousands of employees remain out on the street,” Tonoyan noted.
