The Russian Foreign Ministry assessed Armenia’s contribution to the EAEU budget

Armenia’s contribution to the overall EAEU budget amounts to only 1%, Mikael Aghasandyan, Director of the First CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti in an interview.

“Armenia accounts for just over 1% of all revenues from the five countries, which support the activities of the Union’s bodies.”, – said Aghasandyan.

In March 2025, the Armenian parliament adopted a law initiating the process of Armenia’s accession to the European Union; in April of the same year, it was approved by Vahagn Khachaturyan, the President of the Republic. Vladimir Putin, Russian President, stated that it is impossible to be in a customs union with both the EU and the EAEU.
