Lawyer Yerem Sargsyan has published a video of negotiations between Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan and Iranian citizens, which shows that he invested $14.5 million in a joint business, but his money was stolen.
Sargsyan noted that, according to the footage, the PAP leader did not commit fraud, and the Iranian citizens, presented by the investigation as victims, stole at least the millions he had invested.
According to the case materials, Tsarukyan allegedly misappropriated $21 million from Arman Olamayi, Erfan Olamayi, Hamlet Tumanyan and Hajiali Olamayi. In fact, Olamayi introduced himself as a representative of the Iranian government, noting that he held exclusive licenses to import goods into the Republic of Armenia, and Tsarukyan trusted him…
In the video, Tsarukyan says that he invested the entire amount in the joint business. When he suggested that Arman invest at least 10%, Arman said he had no money. Meanwhile, Olamayi owns 50% of the company’s shares.
Tsarukyan also notes that, according to the 2024 joint business report, total profit came to $23 million. Of that sum, $14.5 million was invested by the PAP leader, and the remaining $8.5 million was supposed to be divided between the partners, but he never received that money.
Thus, according to the lawyer, “the real victim, Gagik Tsarukyan, has become the accused, while the Iranian citizens are portrayed as victims.”
