The opposition Armenia parliamentary faction will not take part in processes aimed at adopting a new Constitution and will vote against the constitutional changes proposed by the authorities, Anna Grigoryan, head of the Armenia faction, told journalists at the National Assembly.

According to her, the issue of amending the Constitution is not new, and ahead of the parliamentary elections, political forces presented the public with conflicting positions.

“During the election campaign, Nikol Pashinyan called on the people to elect him so that he could change the Constitution. We, in turn, said that if elected, we would not allow the Constitution to be changed. The Armenia faction cannot take part in a process that contradicts the promise it made to its voters. Therefore, this proposal is unacceptable to us, and we will vote against the ‘Aliyev Constitution,’” Grigoryan noted.
