A comprehensive peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan was initialed on August 11, 2025. All this happened with the direct witness or participation of the President and the authorities of Armenia. This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, commenting on the peace process between Yerevan and Baku and the issue of amending Armenia’s Constitution.

“Within this process, not a single provision of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia was ever discussed, nor could it have been,” he noted.

According to the MP, there is no precedent in the world of one sovereign state making demands regarding another’s Constitution.
