Armenian paraweightlifters win 6 medals at world championships

The Armenian youth national paraweightlifting team won six medals at the World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Armenia’s Artur Babayan in the 49 kg category and in the age group 15–17 set the European record with a result of 105 kg, winning silver and bronze medals. 

In the 15–17 age group, Rafael Hamazaspyan claimed bronze and gold medals with a result of 75 kg and 210 kg, respectively. Khoren Tsaturyan in the 18-20 age group won two gold medals with the result of 105 kg. 

The personal coaches of the athletes are Aram Zurabyan and Kristine Petrosyan. The head of the Armenian delegation is coach Gevorg Hovhannisyan. 

Coaches Greta Vardanyan, Harutyun Mkhitaryan, and Gor Narinjyan also went to the competition.
