It is the US, not Russia, that needs the so-called Zangezur corridor – Harut Sassounian

The US enthusiastically defends the so-called Zangezur corridor, Harut Sassounian, editor and publisher of the California Courier newspaper, told Alpha News.

“For a long time, the leadership has been saying that Russia wants the Zangezur corridor, and Russia is imposing it. Now we have seen that it is not true. The US defends the ‘Zangezur corridor’ even more enthusiastically because it wants Turkey, Azerbaijan, and other Turkish republics to be in communication and trade with each other to bypass Russia. The US wants to weaken Russia’s role in the world, and that is the reason why it wants to expel the Russians from Armenia,” Sassounian said.

Sassounian noted that the US has no interest in Armenia, the goal is to separate our country from Russia.

“No matter how close Erdogan gets to Putin, the US will be more determined to keep what it has. Turkey and Azerbaijan are very important countries for America and Europe. Armenia is not such an important country. They have no interest in Armenia, they just want the Russians to leave,” Harut Sassounian concluded.
