‘Many years of painstaking work’: Levon Julfalakyan inducted into UWW Hall of Fame
Retired wrestler and coach Levon Julfalakyan has been inducted into the United World Wrestling (UWW) Hall of Fame, Armenpress reports.
The induction ceremony was held within the framework of the Olympic Games at the Wrestling House in Paris.
“This is the result of many years of painstaking work. And today, the UWW is giving its assessment, for which I am very grateful,” Julfalakyan said.
Levon Julfalakyan is the 1988 Olympic Games champion and gold medalist of the 1986 World and 1986 European Championships. He started his coaching career in 1999 and headed the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team. Under his guidance, Artur Aleksanyan became the 2016 Olympic champion, Arsen Julfalakyan won the 2012 Olympic silver medal, Roman Amoyan and Yury Patrikeyev secured bronze, and Mihran Harutyunyan took silver.
