Cineuropa, a popular European online portal dedicated to the promotion of cinema, has published an article about the animated documentary ‘Aurora’s Sunrise’ by Armenian director Inna Sahakyan.

According to the author of the article, Sahakyan’s heartfelt animated documentary is a testament to the human spirit set against the backdrop of the Armenian genocide. The article also mentions the films ‘Nahapet’ by Henrik Malyan and ‘Ararat’ by Atom Egoyan.

‘Aurora’s Sunrise’ tells the terrifying story of Aurora Mardiganian, an Armenian girl who survived the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

When the massacre began, Aurora was 14 and lived in a small town in the Ottoman Empire. Thanks to her willpower and determination in 1917, the girl found salvation in the USA.
