Armenian students win 2 bronze medals at 8th European Youth Olympiad in Informatics

Armenian students won two bronze medals at the 8th European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI), which was held from August 16–22 in Chisinau, Moldova. The format of the Olympiad corresponded to that of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), with participants completing 3 tasks in 2 competition days and each country presenting a maximum of 4 participants.

The Armenian team was represented by Tigran Matsakyan and Vahagn Gezalyan, 9th grade students of Artashes Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics Specialized School, as well as Arman Kirakosyan, 9th grade student of the Photon College in Gyumri, and Aren Grigoryan, 8th grade student of the Quantum College.

Tigran Matsakyan and Arman Kirakosyan secured bronze medals, and Vahagn Gezalyan was awarded a certificate of commendation. The team was headed by YSU students Samvel Andreasyan and Samvel Abelyan, with YSU lecturer Armen Andreasyan being included in the EJOI Olympic Committee.
