Vahe Davtyan, professor and senior researcher at the Caucasus Studies sector of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS), said at a press conference held at the Alpha Media Center on the topic “How to preserve subjectivity in the era of new corridors?” that very active attempts are currently being made to integrate Armenia into the Middle Corridor.

“Today, essentially, very active attempts are being made to integrate Armenia into the Middle Corridor, and this is reflected both at the level of geostrategic planning and at the domestic, commercial, and market level. It is worth mentioning the TRIPP initiative, which, as everyone understands, is regarded as a very important diversification route that would allow Armenia to be integrated into the Middle Corridor. Among other things, TRIPP offers the possibility of establishing electricity and gas transmission links,” Davtyan said.

According to him, what can be observed are very deep-rooted attempts to reshape, among other things, Russian energy influence in the Armenian market.
