Aliyev calls EUMA ‘a reconnaissance mission’

During the opening ceremony of the 12th Global Baku Forum, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called the European Union (EU) monitoring mission in Armenia a “reconnaissance mission.”

“They stand day and night on our border, searching for places where they can penetrate. We have enough intelligence information about this so-called monitoring mission,” he said.

In January, the Ambassadors of the European Union (EU) approved the decision on the EU civilian mission in Armenia in Brussels, according to which the European observers will remain in Armenia’s border regions for another two years, until February 19, 2027.
