According to a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, as part of the Armenian-Turkish normalization process that began in 2022, the bureaucratic preparations for launching direct trade between the two countries have been completed as of May 11, 2026.

At the same time, it was noted that technical and administrative work related to opening the shared border between the two countries is still ongoing. As a result of the new regulations, it has become possible to designate “Armenia/Turkey” as the final destination or point of origin for cargo transported through third countries.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized that it will continue to support the development of economic ties and the strengthening of lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
