Aram Vardevanyan has a great deal of work ahead of him, regardless of the position he holds: Narek Karapetyan

The “Strong Armenia” party is guided by a clear agenda, said Narek Karapetyan, head of the faction, speaking with journalists in the National Assembly, commenting on statements by pro-government deputies that there is no mandatory legislative requirement to elect an opposition candidate to the post of Vice-Speaker of parliament.

“Mr. Vardevanyan has a great deal of work to do, both as Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly and as a member of our faction. In both cases, this will benefit the National Assembly as well as our work,” Karapetyan said.

Responding to a remark about whether there is a contradiction between Vardevanyan’s “big plans” and the notion that this parliament will have a short lifespan, the deputy stressed: “It is precisely through our joint work that we must achieve this change. Each of us, in our own place, must work as hard as possible in order to be able to carry out the necessary political changes.”
