Armenia does not intend to use pressure tools in its relations with the European Union in the context of passing legislation and possible EU membership. Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, made the statement at the 8th meeting of the Armenia–EU Civil Society Platform.
“We will not blackmail the EU by saying: we passed the relevant law, now admit us next month. There should be no anxiety in this process,” he said.
According to Pashinyan, for Armenia this process is an opportunity to continue reforms and steadily move closer to European standards.
