Armenia has no territorial claims against other countries: Narek Karapetyan

During this time, hundreds of our comrades have been arrested, and Mr. Vardevanyan has provided professional assistance to dozens of people. This was stated in the National Assembly by Narek Karapetyan, leader of the “Strong Armenia” party, assessing the professional and personal qualities of Aram Vardevanyan, candidate for the post of deputy speaker of parliament.

“Mr. Vardevanyan is a specialist of a very high caliber, and beyond his professional qualities, he also has a strong ideological foundation. During this time, hundreds of our comrades have been arrested, and Mr. Vardevanyan, without any compensation, has provided professional assistance to dozens of people, thanks to which many are with their families today. In my opinion, at least three or four deputies are present here today only because Vardevanyan offered the right legal solution at the time, and I am one of them,” Karapetyan noted.

Speaking about the political debates surrounding the perception of the Homeland, Narek Karapetyan stated that the model they’ve proposed captures two important realities.

“The first, yes, the Republic of Armenia exists within its own borders, and it has no claim to even a meter of other countries’ territory. For example, Mush and Ani are our Homeland, but not the Republic of Armenia. At the same time, there is also a historical Homeland, which is a fact. Most of our compatriots come from other parts of the Armenian Highlands, and we cannot fail to say that we lived on this land for two thousand years, denying this would be a distortion of historical truth,” he emphasized.
