Armenia under Pashinyan is heading toward catastrophe: Andrey Perla

Political analyst Andrey Perla commented to Alpha News on the summit of the European Political Community, which is taking place these days in Yerevan.
“Armenia under Nikol Pashinyan is turning toward catastrophe, toward severe poverty, because the European path for Armenia would mean the loss of around 40% of GDP. Armenia is moving toward an energy crisis of enormous scale, because it depends entirely on Russia’s goodwill whether Armenia will continue to receive energy resources on preferential terms, as it does today,” the analyst said.
According to the expert, Armenia risks facing a sharp economic downturn, an energy crisis, the loss of trade ties, and increased dependence on Turkey and the European Union.
“Armenia is moving toward the loss of international trade, because alongside Russia, albeit for different reasons, Iran will also stop trading with Armenia. Armenia will find itself in severe dependence on Turkey and the European Union as Turkey’s partner. These will be the outcomes of the European Political Community summit in Yerevan,” Perla said.
