On April 15, the lecture hall of the Armenian Museum in Moscow will host the final meeting of the series on Armenian mythology.

The final lecture will be about the adoption of Christianity in Armenia, an event that not only predetermined the religious map but also had a significant impact on the cultural and ideological development of the Armenian people.

The lecturer is Nune Mkhitaryan, a historian, philologist, and teacher of history, literature, and the Armenian language in Moscow.

In 301 A.D., Armenian King Tiridates III declared Christianity the state religion. This decision, made decades before the Council of Nicaea recognized the Biblical canon, set a new direction in the development not only of Armenia but of the Christian faith as a whole.

What were the motives behind this historic choice? Why did the new faith fit so easily and harmoniously into the existing pagan traditions, and what secrets does the resistance of the old priestly system hide? Nune Mkhitaryan will try to answer these questions.
