Rosselhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on imports of a number of agricultural products from Armenia to Russia effective May 30. Alpha News spoke with Yerevan residents to find out their views on the matter.
One respondent noted: “Our producers will most likely face problems. But what path will lead to overcoming them is hard to say. Recently, Russia has been pursuing a fairly tough policy toward Armenia. In any case, the coming year will be a difficult transitional period for us.”
Another citizen expressed the view that the restrictions are temporary and the problem will soon be resolved.
“If Armenia does not take extreme steps, relations can be settled with everyone. For instance, I am very dissatisfied with the current government, which cannot resolve these issues,” said one of the respondents.
The majority of those polled believe that the path to resolving all problems is participation in the parliamentary elections on June 7.
