The European Union will send a civilian mission to Armenia to counter hybrid threats: disinformation and cyberattacks, and to assist in tracking illicit financial flows. The mission’s initial mandate will last for two years.

“Armenians face large-scale disinformation campaigns and cyberattacks. In the coming years, the new EU civilian mission will provide expert advice, help strengthen institutional capacity, and establish a team to monitor the situation and take urgent measures,” said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, as quoted by press service the EU Council.
