We have been living in an abnormal situation for seven years now, Gevorg Bagratuni, Head of the National United Armenia NGO, said in an interview with Alpha News.

“This is an extremely unpleasant situation—being an Armenian, loving your country, yet opposing the embassy of your republic. This is a kind of abnormal situation in which we have been living for 7 years. What can a person or organization do when they want to advance the issue of recognizing the Genocide, but their state does not want to do this?” he noted with regret.

According to him, if the country’s leader wants it to lose, no one can do anything.

“During a war, there are various discussions, but any reasonable person understands that if the army’s leader wants it to lose, no one can win. The army needs a commander,” Gevorg Bagratuni emphasized.

He also touched upon Armenia’s increasing distance from Russia.

“Since we hold little significance on our own, our distance from Russia is not something impactful. We think that we are an important border for Russia, but when you go deeper and study geography, you understand that we do not even have a border with Russia, since Georgia is between us,” Gevorg Bagratuni said.
