Azerbaijan becoming a springboard against Russia: Kirill Kabanov
Kirill Kabanov, chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Committee of Russia, commented to Alpha News on the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“It has long been clear to everyone that Azerbaijan is no longer the friendly state it publicly claims to be for us. It is part of an anti-Russian coalition and is demonstrating this more and more strongly. In other words, it must show its patrons that it is indeed playing on the anti-Russian field, on that anti-Russian side. Accordingly, Aliyev, understanding Russia’s extremely cautious position, is, to put it mildly, behaving quite brazenly,” Kabanov noted.
According to the expert, military cooperation between Baku and Kyiv is a demonstrative step against Russia.
“Military cooperation has been discussed for a long time and has also been stated publicly for quite some time. Many experts have pointed this out. We know about the transfer of aircraft, there have been discussions about this. Now he is demonstratively declaring military cooperation with Ukraine. In fact, Azerbaijan is now a springboard, a second Ukraine, but in the South Caucasus. Everything is repeating itself exactly,” Kabanov said.
