Azerbaijan has not recognized Armenia’s territorial integrity in specific figures: Levon Kocharyan
Nikol Pashinyan recognized Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity in specific square kilometers, whereas no similar step has been taken by the other side. This was stated in the National Assembly by Levon Kocharyan, deputy of the “Armenia” faction, commenting on discussions surrounding the recognition of the Republic of Armenia’s territorial integrity.
“The problem is that Azerbaijan has not recognized Armenia’s territory in specific figures. There is no reciprocity in the demarcation process, and Baku’s demands are of an annexationist nature,” the deputy emphasized.
According to him, the notion of a so-called “Western Azerbaijan” had never previously become part of Armenia’s political agenda, since the country was strong and its diplomacy stable. Today, discussions of these topics, in Levon Kocharyan’s view, are driven solely by the authorities’ conciliatory policy.
