Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, in an interview with Vesti news agency, stressed that Armenia does not intend to leave the Eurasian Economic Union. According to him, Yerevan traditionally demonstrates a desire to remain within the bloc, though there are certain nuances on this matter that require further discussion.
Responding to a question about whether agreements with the Armenian side had been reached at the EAEU summit in Astana, Overchuk noted that the negotiation process is ongoing.
“Be patient,” the deputy prime minister added.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov reported that the Astana meeting had featured a “substantive discussion” of the situation surrounding Armenia’s EAEU membership.
