Campaign against the Church has no grounds, it is a matter of political revenge: Hakob Ter-Khachaturyan

Hakob Ter-Khachaturyan, Chairman of the Central Council of ARF’s “Hai Dat,” told journalists during the All-Armenian conference of “Hai Dat” committees and branches that serious work is underway regarding the campaign by Armenia’s authorities against the Armenian Apostolic Church, including consultations with church hierarchs and calls for support voiced through international organizations, the World Council of Churches, and the Vatican.

According to him, the campaign against the Church has no grounds whatsoever, it is a matter of political revenge.

“Unfortunately, democracy in Armenia is in decline, and a particularly fierce struggle is being waged against organizations that defend national values, ideology and identity, of which the Armenian Apostolic Church is the leader,” he noted.
