Canadians are already tired of Trudeau – Shahen Mirakian

Speaking with Alpha News, ANCC president Shahen Mirakian noted that Canadians are already tired of the country’s resigned former prime minister Justin Trudeau.
Former Canadian Central Bank Governor Mark Carney was elected leader of the ruling Liberal Party and will become the country’s new prime minister. Justin Trudeau, who had served as prime minister since 2015, announced his decision to step down earlier this year. Carney will officially take office once Trudeau submits a formal resignation letter to Canada’s governor general.
“At this point I can’t tell you what the difference between Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney is. He was elected just a day ago. He’s a new man, and naturally there are new changes coming to the country. The Canadian people agreed with his policies as they were tired of Trudeau, who had been in office for 10 years. People needed something new,” he told Alpha News.
According to Mirakian, even members of Trudeau’s own party acknowledged it was time for him to step down.
“Trudeau held more left-wing views, while the Liberal Party always aims for a centrist position, not deviating to the left or the right. Trudeau became a leftist to get re-elected as prime minister. Even Trudeau’s fellow party members believed he should resign,” Mirakian added.
Mirakian also commented on US President Donald Trump’s statement that Canada should become the 51st state.
