Well-known Argentine economist of Armenian origin, Carlos Melconian, in the TV show La Noche de Mirtha touched upon the forced exodus of Armenians from Artsakh.

Melconian took part in the October 14 episode of the show of the Argentine actress and TV presenter Mirtha Legrand, together with Argentine presidential candidate Patricia Bullrich and journalists Jonatan Viale and Diego Sehinkman.

Commenting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Melconian noted:

“Not on such a scale, but conceptually and qualitatively, everything that happened to us in Nagorno-Karabakh, where 120,000 Armenians lived, was genocide and ethnic cleansing. They blocked the roads to starve everyone. The population was forced to leave their homeland to the Azerbaijanis.”

As a descendant of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide, the economist told the story of his family.

“I know about this—without modern technologies and photographs, I know from what my grandmother told me about this genocide,” Melconian stressed.
