Residents of Yerevan gathered outside the Swiss Embassy to demand the safe return of Artsakh people to their homeland and the release of prisoners held in Baku. The protesters handed the embassy a letter calling on the members of the upper house of the Swiss Parliament to adopt the motion approved by the lower house. The motion calls on the government to organize an international conference on a peaceful resolution to the Artsakh conflict.
The demonstrators carried posters bearing messages such as, “We want our compatriots to return to their homeland” and “Release the prisoners, tomorrow it will be late.”
In December 2024, the lower house of the Swiss Parliament passed a motion calling for an international peace forum and expressing disagreement with the events happening to Artsakh Armenians. Today the protesters ask the members of the Federal Council of Switzerland to adopt this motion, which is scheduled for discussion on March 18.
