Claims by some journalists that the continued operation of the Metsamor nuclear power plant in Armenia is allegedly dangerous for the region cause bewilderment, and Rosatom takes a responsible approach to fulfilling its obligations, said Maria Zakharova, official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Given that the main partner of the Metsamor nuclear power plant is the state corporation Rosatom, which always takes a responsible approach to fulfilling its obligations, the claims of certain… journalists, which cause nothing but bewilderment and raise only questions as to how much… they were handed talking points,” Zakharova said, commenting on media materials that call the safety of the plant into question.
She noted that such media publications reflect someone’s desire to sabotage the Russian-Armenian project in the field of nuclear energy.
