Conference promoting so-called “Western Azerbaijan” narrative to be held at US Congress

A conference promoting the narrative of the so-called “Western Azerbaijan” is planned for June 24 at the US Capitol in Washington, organized at the initiative of the Baku-based initiative group.

The organizers are attempting to use human rights terminology to legitimize a revisionist agenda. Under the guise of “return,” they are effectively pushing the idea that the sovereign territory of Armenia can be framed as a subject of Azerbaijan’s historical and political claims.

This approach is unacceptable. Azerbaijan must abandon its attempts to incorporate the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia into its political agenda and stop presenting Armenian cities and villages as part of the artificially constructed concept of “Western Azerbaijan,” writes the Telegram channel of the Javakhk diaspora of Russia.
