Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the “Strong Armenia” party, stated that he is confident no one from his team will join the “Civil Contract” party after receiving parliamentary mandates. He told this to journalists outside the Anti-Corruption Court.
“It is they who will join us. We are confident that no one from our team will defect to Civil Contract,” he added.
When remarked that their ranks might also contain their own ‘geghamnazaryans’ and ‘ishkhanzakaryans’, meaning people ready to leave the list and cross over to the ruling camp, Karapetyan responded: “I will say it plainly: even if such people exist, it will not help. They will not join Civil Contract, I am certain of it.”
According to Samvel Karapetyan, his team always counts on fairness, but upon finding it absent, moves to the next step, pushing for a second round of elections.
“After so many violations, Nikol Pashinyan cannot be considered a legitimate authority. Armenia, left without a legitimate government, will only open its gates to the Azerbaijanis. So I urge everyone to be vigilant. If they are confident in their victory, let them organize new elections or hold a second round within a month,” Karapetyan said.
He also emphasized that his team will do everything possible to put the country on a path of development.
Commenting on Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that the businessman would remain in Armenia for many years, Karapetyan said: “He said only one true thing, I will indeed stay in Armenia for a long time, at least ten years.”
