The CSTO member states continue to consider Armenia a full member of the organization; however, this status requires adherence to all obligations outlined within the framework of the CSTO, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters after the CSTO Foreign Ministers’ Council meeting.
“We still consider Armenia a full-fledged member of this organization, but, of course, full-fledged membership entails fulfilling all responsibilities arising from the CSTO’s founding documents—including, notably, the payment of membership dues,” Lavrov said.
At the same time, he noted that the participants of the CSTO Foreign Ministers’ Council “took note of the fact that [Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan] once again declined to attend the event.”
