The Diaspora stopped trusting the All-Armenian Fund, which caused a reduction in aid, entrepreneur and activist Davit Mnatsakanyan told Alpha News.

“Hearing the news about the forced exodus of Artsakh people, I left for Armenia. During my visit, I met about 500 Artsakh people and provided assistance to 3,000 families. The purpose of the visit was to understand what the people of Artsakh want and need and what help they are offered in Armenia. To help our Artsakh brothers and sisters, the Diaspora must take a united approach. The Diaspora stopped trusting the All-Armenian Fund, which caused a reduction in aid.

The Diaspora has always stood by Armenia and Artsakh, has always provided assistance, but it is very unfortunate when, while providing assistance, you do not know whether it reached those who needed it or not. Living in the USA, we know what Armenia needs. Having spent a month there, I compiled a list of the central problems that exist in our homeland. At this moment, the Diaspora, undoubtedly, should be more united, since the people of Artsakh today need help and expect support from us,” he said.

Mnatsakanyan emphasized that the Armenian government must protect the rights of Artsakh people and raise this issue on all international platforms.

“I conducted a small survey among our compatriots displaced from Artsakh, and most of them want to return to their land, to their homeland. The people of Artsakh are our compatriots, and leaving them alone in this situation would be a big mistake. The Armenian government must protect the rights of Artsakh people and raise their issue on all international platforms,” Mnatsakanyan concluded.
