A press conference dedicated to the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum, to be held on May 28–29 in Astana, took place at the press center of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The forum’s central theme will be “The EAEU in the global digital race: betting on artificial intelligence.”
Ministers of the EEC Board took part in the press conference. The speakers outlined the key areas of the business program and provided details on discussion formats, thematic sessions, and the composition of forum participants.
The event also featured assessments of the current state of integration cooperation within the EAEU. In particular, Gohar Barseghyan, Minister for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC, highlighted the economic benefits of Armenia’s membership in the Union. According to her, EAEU member states gain additional opportunities for economic development and expanded cooperation.
“Armenia, like other EAEU members, receives a wide range of economic benefits from membership in the organization. We are currently working on launching a pilot mechanism in the agricultural sector, where Armenia has significant potential,” Barseghyan said.
This year’s main focus will be on the digitalization of the economy, the introduction of new technologies, and the development of artificial intelligence across Eurasian Economic Union member states.
The forum is expected to bring together representatives of business, government, and expert communities from EAEU countries, as well as foreign delegations. The Eurasian Economic Forum is held annually in the country holding the EAEU presidency. In 2026, Kazakhstan holds the presidency of the union.
