Trade turnover within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) reached a record level in 2025, exceeding $95 billion. The announcement was made by Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, in a video address to participants of the 6th Central Asian Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club, which opened in Gelendzhik.
“Over the years of the Union’s existence, significant economic achievements have been made, demonstrating its resilience to external shocks. The principle of free movement of goods, capital, services, and labor, which underpins the Union, has become one of the key competitive advantages for the Eurasian ‘five’, a driver of economic growth and, consequently, a tool for ensuring sustainable socio-economic development. Proof of this is, in particular, intra-union trade turnover, which reached a record level in 2025, over $95 billion,” he said.
As Galuzin noted, foreign countries are taking notice of the positive results of Eurasian economic integration and are seeking to become partners of the EAEU.
“In 2025, the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran came into force, and trade liberalization agreements were signed with Indonesia, Mongolia, and the United Arab Emirates. All of this significantly expands the capacity of markets accessible to goods from EAEU countries,” the Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized.
