Europe has not discussed with Armenia setting up a center in the country for illegal migrants from the European Union. This was stated to Sputnik Armenia by Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As a reminder, Italian media previously reported on such EU plans. According to Euronews, Italy proposed setting up centers in third countries to house foreign nationals who arrive illegally in the EU, for the duration of the review of their asylum applications and immigration documents. Armenia was included on the list of possible candidate countries.
