External partners of Armenia need to be shown the dynamics of change: Dmitry Solonnikov
Political scientist Dmitry Solonnikov commented to Alpha News on the transition of parliamentary Speaker Alen Simonyan to the position of Security Council Secretary, replacing Armen Grigoryan.
“This concerns the new parliamentary convocation, there needs to be a new face. It’s important for Pashinyan to demonstrate the dynamics of the transformation of power, not that it has frozen in place. A suitable, respected position was found for the previous speaker. The turning point was the elections, not problems within the Security Council,” the expert believes.
In his view, the personnel reshuffling is technical in nature.
“No serious changes are planned. Pashinyan won the elections and will continue the same course,” Solonnikov emphasized.
The source sees the change of speaker as a signal to external forces.
“This is not a punishment or anything negative, Simonyan is a full-fledged member of the team. The reshuffle is needed to show external partners the dynamics of change and a new face for parliament,” the political strategist concluded.
