Residents of the village of Kirants, Tavush region, noticed Azerbaijan’s flag on the delimited border area.

“The flag was installed a day or two ago. We can see it from the village and the cemetery. From my impression, the Azerbaijani flag is located 200 meters from the cemetery. From this area, we can even see the Azerbaijani border guards, they are closer to us than the flag,” Gohar Vardanyan, a resident of the village of Kirants, told Alpha News.

The delimitation process in the village of Kirants has not yet been completed, but according to Gohar, residents are already packing their belongings.

“At first, it was said that people had time until July 24, but, as I understood, they urged people to pack things as soon as possible. In the area that has not yet been delimited, there are two shops, but people are no longer allowed there. Perhaps tomorrow they will come and demand that people get out of their homes. It seems to me that all this depends not only on us but also on Azerbaijan. At the moment, we are still using about 800 meters of the interstate road between Armenia and Georgia. But soon, it will be under Azerbaijan’s control. Near the bridge that leads into the village, police are warning people to cross as quickly as possible. According to my information, as a result of border delimitation, more than 50 privatized plots of land in the village will go to Azerbaijan,” said Gohar.
