The Armenia-Georgia interstate road in the section between Kirants and Voskepar villages remains closed. Mher Simonyan, a resident of the Kirants community, told Alpha News that miners have not yet come to their village.

“But it is expected that they will come soon,” said Mher Simonyan, who is currently keeping the road from Kirants to Voskepar closed with local residents.

According to him, if the village of Kheyrimli, adjacent to Kirants, comes under Azerbaijan’s control, not only the bridge road from Ijevan to Kirants will pass to Azerbaijan, but also four houses from the village of Kirants will, one of which is his house.

“We are offered an alternative path, and we are against it. It is not useful to us because half of our village will be in the territory of Azerbaijan. No one will stay in that village. We have decided that if something like this happens, we will burn our houses and leave the village,” he said.

He mentioned that the residents will continue to keep the Armenia-Georgia interstate road closed in the section of Kirants and Voskepar villages.

“The Prime Minister should leave us alone and not give our ancestral lands to Azerbaijanis. We don’t want anything else; we are not making a coup; we ask him to leave us alone,” he added.
