“Our law enforcement system never ceases to amaze us with its imagination”: Yerem Sargsyan

Before the start of another stage of the confrontation between Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, and Iranian businessmen (recognized as victims), lawyer Yerem Sargsyan was removed from the proceedings, thereby losing the ability to defend Tsarukyan.

As Sargsyan told journalists, the body conducting the investigation justified its decision to remove him by citing testimony from the Iranian side that Sargsyan had been present at certain meetings with Tsarukyan. On this basis, investigators decided to summon the lawyer as a witness and have already served him with a subpoena for questioning.

“Our law enforcement system never ceases to amaze us with its imagination and the level of unlawful actions it takes. This is the height of lawlessness. Out of fear, I was removed from the proceedings, because yesterday we simply tore to shreds all the unlawful actions they had committed,” he noted.
