Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in a video address that Armenia will continue working within the Eurasian Economic Union.

“We are working in the EAEU and will continue to do so until the moment when a choice between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union becomes unavoidable. And that decision, naturally, must be made by the people of the Republic of Armenia through a referendum,” he said.

According to Pashinyan, holding any referendum on the matter makes no sense until Armenia officially applies for EU membership or comes close to obtaining EU candidate status. “Therefore, we will continue to work within the EAEU calmly, without controversy. And I am confident that we still have untapped potential in this direction, which we will make use of in the near future,” he stated.
