Iran has demonstrated its readiness to resist — Alexander Kuznetsov

On the sidelines of the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russian-Iranian Cooperation in a Changing World,” Russian political scientist Alexander Kuznetsov commented to Alpha News on the military escalation in the Middle East and possible scenarios for the development of the situation.
“There are two possible conclusions. First, either the United States has lost all control—both globally and regionally—and Israel acted without Washington’s consent. So, then the question arises: what is the point of engaging with the US if it cannot do anything?
The second hypothesis is even worse: that perhaps the US deliberately lured Iran into a trap. That is, it created the illusion of negotiations, the Iranian side relaxed, and then Israel launched strikes, and the goal was to destroy Iran as a significant military and political force in the Middle East.
Therefore, the situation is very bad and directly threatens the national interests of Russia because Iran is our strategic partner. If the worst-case scenario unfolds—such as Iran’s disintegration into several states, or the rise of chaos and anarchy—it would severely complicate Russia’s position in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, of course,” the expert said.
