Mohsen Rezaei, advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said following the Ukrainian attack on an Iranian ship that Tehran had been ready to strike three targets in Ukraine, Press TV reports.
As Iran’s Foreign Ministry reported earlier, Ukraine carried out a military attack on an Iranian merchant ship on July 25. One sailor was killed and another wounded in the attack.
“We were ready to strike three targets in Ukraine, but called off the attack after Ukraine apologized,” the channel quotes Rezaei as saying.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, said on Monday that Iran has information that Ukraine deliberately attacked the Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea, and added that Tehran would take all necessary measures to ensure Kyiv answers for what it did.
