Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia’s foreign minister, took part in a panel discussion at the Warsaw Security Forum titled “Half-prepared or step by step: Rethinking EU enlargement,” devoted to the prospects for EU expansion. Among other issues, Mirzoyan commented on Armenia’s relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
“We have peace with Azerbaijan, although a few steps remain to be taken. We are normalizing relations with Turkey. The border is still closed, but I think the process has matured considerably, and it’s quite possible that tomorrow morning we will wake up and see the headline ‘Armenia-Turkey border open’ in the news,” Mirzoyan said.
