The Armenian National Committee of America–Western Region (ANCA-WR) will present filmmaker Jivan Avetisyan with its 2026 Advocacy in Cinema Award. The presentation will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, during the organization’s highly anticipated gala banquet at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Los Angeles.

ANCA-WR’s Advocacy in Cinema Award honors an artist whose work conveys the memory, identity, and history of Artsakh and the Armenian people to audiences worldwide.

“Through his films, Jivan Avetisyan has accomplished something that few in our community have had the opportunity or platform to do: bring the story of Artsakh to audiences who might otherwise never have heard it,” said ANCA-WR Board Chair Oshin Harootoonian.

“His work extends beyond cinema; it is a testimony preserved and shared to ensure that the truth and memory of Artsakh are never erased. His selection as this year’s Advocacy in Cinema Award recipient attests to the vital role art plays in our advocacy efforts.”
