Khachanov beats Norrie to reach second round of Monte-Carlo Masters

Russian tennis player of Armenian origin Karen Khachanov edged out British Cameron Norrie to reach the second round of the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Khachanov, the No. 15 seed, defeated Norrie 7-5, 7-6 (3) in two hours and 25 minutes.

The next opponent of the 27-year-old tennis player will be Francisco Cerúndolo from Argentina.

Earlier, Khachanov and Andrey Rublev reached the second round of the ATP Monte Carlo doubles by beating Daniil Medvedev and Roman Safiullin.
